Safer Internet Day 2019 – Tuesday 5th February
Today was a fun and informative day at Woolston Brook. We took part in Safer Internet Day.
We looked at the history of the internet, conducted research in the form of questionnaires about internet devices and usage.
We took part in scenarios and drama pieces and a whole school pupil voice activity of designing our own Safer internet poster.
We included our parents in our day with a parents questionnaire offering support where needed. We also discussed with community leaders at Penketh Baths and Community PCO opinions on Safety on the Internet.
National Online Safety
Free ‘conversation starter’ poster for schools to share with their parents & carers about online safety. The guide includes 7 questions to get ‘the conversation’ going in relation to their child’s internet usage. Engaging in regular, two-way communication with children about online activities is a really important way of building trust and highlighting the dangers they are exposed to every day.
