Chris Forrest
Chair of Governors
Chris Forrest is the owner of Forrest Governance Ltd which is a Warrington based business supporting schools across the country and was a DfE accredited NLG for over seven years. As well as being the chair of Woolston Brook School, Chris is currently chair of Ashurst Primary School in St Helens, Barrow Hall Primary School in Warrington, chair of the Interim Executive Board at Brownhill School in Rochdale and is vice chair of Warrington Governors Forum.
"I became a governor when my eldest daughter (now at university) first started primary school, because I wanted to help that school be the best it could be and for me it's not good enough to simply want your community to be better, - you must do something to contribute to it. I have lived in Warrington for 28 years and as well as supporting Woolston Brook since 2023 I have supported and trained governors in Warrington and beyond since 2020."

Sarah Woolley
Governor
Sarah Woolley is an experienced and highly skilled educational leader and linguist, currently serving as the Assistant Programme Lead for School Leadership Development with the Church of England Education Office. With nearly two decades of teaching experience in both the UK and Spain, Sarah has consistently demonstrated a commitment to excellence, inclusion, and professional growth in education.
Her career has been marked by a series of impactful leadership roles across secondary education. From pioneering the introduction of Spanish in her first UK teaching role to leading primary liaison initiatives, overseeing pastoral care as Head of House, and then becoming Head of Spanish in a local Warrington high school, Sarah’s dedication to nurturing both students and staff has been evident throughout.
Sarah is deeply invested in professional development and has mentored early career teachers, led CPD sessions, and contributed to school-wide training programmes.
Her MA in Education Leadership from the University of Exeter—completed with Distinction—further strengthened her expertise in research-led leadership, with her dissertation focusing on strategies to improve classroom experiences for EAL (English as an Additional Language) learners, particularly those from Romanian backgrounds. As EAL Lead at her most recent school, Sarah designed inclusive, evidence-based CPD, fostered collaborative practice, and built strong networks with EAL experts to support staff and improve outcomes for students. Her efforts have had a measurable impact on teaching practices and staff confidence, particularly in response to rising numbers of EAL pupils.
Sarah is a life-long learner, committed to educational equity, compassionate leadership, and empowering teachers and leaders to flourish. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, reading, tap dancing and singing!
