Woolston Brook Football Team Match Day
By Mark Cullen and Calvin Pasquill
We’re thrilled to announce an exciting day for the Woolston Brook Football Team! Get ready to cheer for our fantastic pupils from Key Stages 2 and 3 as they lace up their boots for an electrifying set of matches. The team will be taking to the field in League 2, showcasing their hard work, teamwork, and sportsmanship on Pitch 4 at LCFA Sefton, located at Drummond Road. Mark your calendars for Friday, 6th December 2024, as this promises to be a day filled with excitement and community spirit.
Now, let’s dive a bit deeper into what’s in store for our talented footballers. The Woolston Brook Football Team has been practising diligently, honing their skills, and developing their team spirit over the past few months. This is an excellent chance for them to put their training into action, and we can’t wait to see them in action against some worthy opponents!
On match day, our team will be participating in three key matches. They’ll kick off against the formidable Finchwood Academy Blue, followed by a challenging clash with Impact, and rounding off their day with a match against Rowan High. Each game is a unique opportunity for our students not just to compete but also to learn valuable lessons about resilience, cooperation, and of course, the joy of playing the beautiful game.
Under the expert guidance of our Pastoral Manager, Calvin Pasquill, the Woolston Brook Football Team is in terrific hands. Calvin has been playing a crucial role not only as the team's manager but also as a mentor. His passion for football is only rivalled by his commitment to nurturing our young players' talents, helping them grow both on and off the pitch. With his experience and enthusiasm, Calvin has rallied the team, fostering a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that empowers our pupils to give their best.
While Calvin leads from the sidelines, we also have John McMullan, our dedicated maths lead, stepping up to show his support. John is not just a numbers enthusiast but also a keen advocate for our students, always ready to lend a helping hand. He will be driving the team to the venue and offering support throughout the matches. It’s this commitment to teamwork and collaboration that enhances the experiences of our pupils, ensuring they know their school community stands firmly behind them.
These moments create lasting memories for our students and remind them of the sense of belonging and support they have at Woolston Brook. After the matches, we’ll gather as a team to celebrate their efforts, regardless of the scoreline. For our pupils, participating in these matches is a step towards personal growth and a greater understanding of teamwork. Each match is an opportunity to learn and develop, and it’s essential to acknowledge their achievements as they represent our school values on the pitch.
