Welcome Bannerheadteacher_headline

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to Woolston Brook School.

Having now completed twenty months as Headteacher of Woolston Brook School, I am incredibly proud of how far our school community has come in such a short space of time. Since September 2024, we have worked together to drive significant improvements across all areas of school life whilst remaining true to what makes Woolston Brook special – our caring, nurturing and relationship-centred approach.

Woolston Brook is a specialist school for children and young people aged 7–16 with social, emotional, mental health and neurodiverse needs. Every child who joins our school brings their own unique strengths, interests and individual needs and we are committed to ensuring that every pupil feels safe, valued, respected and able to achieve success.

Over the past twenty months, we have seen considerable growth and development. The school has expanded to meet the increasing demand for specialist provision across Warrington whilst continuing to improve the quality of education, pastoral and therapeutic support available to our pupils. We have strengthened safeguarding systems, enhanced our curriculum, expanded vocational and outdoor learning opportunities, improved reading outcomes and invested in our school environment to create spaces where pupils can thrive.

None of this would have been possible without the support and commitment of our wider community. I would like to thank our parents and carers for the trust they place in us and for the vital role they play in supporting their children's education. We know that the best outcomes are achieved when schools and families work together and we value the positive relationships we have built with so many of you.

We have also benefited greatly from working in partnership with a wide range of external agencies, professionals and services who share our commitment to supporting children and young people with complex needs. Alongside our colleagues at Warrington Borough Council and other local partners, these relationships have helped us to strengthen provision and ensure that pupils receive the support they need to succeed both in school and beyond.

Our school motto, "Relationships, Responsibility and Respect," remains at the heart of everything we do. We believe that strong relationships provide the foundation for learning, personal growth and future success. Every member of our staff team is committed to helping pupils develop the confidence, resilience and skills they need to navigate the next stage of their lives.

Whilst we are proud of the progress we have made; we are equally excited about the future. We continue to have ambitious plans for Woolston Brook and are determined to provide the very best education and support for every child and family we serve.
