3 x Fixed Term Teaching Assistants
Woolston Brook is a small, specialist school for children and young people aged 7-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. The school provides an inclusive environment where all learners are cared for, valued and respected. Woolston Brook School is seeking to appoint 3 Classroom Teaching Assistants on a 1 year fixed term basis to join our wonderful team.
Job Title- Teaching Assistant- 1 Year Fixed Term
Grade- Grade 5, SCP 8-14 £26,824 - £29,540 (Actual salary- £20,891-£23,007)
Responsible To- Assistant Headteacher
Hours of Duty- 33.5 hours per week, term time only plus 5 inset days
Scope Of The Job
- To work under the guidance of the Assistant Headteacher
- To implement agreed programmes of work with individuals, in or out of the classroom.
- Subject to agreement of arrangements, staff may also supervise whole classes occasionally in the short-term absence of teachers, with a primary focus of maintaining good order and keeping learners on task.

Teacher of Science and Mathematics (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4)
Job Title: Teacher of Science and Mathematics (Key Stages 2, 3 and 4)
Salary: MPS/UPS + SEN1
Reporting to: Deputy Headteacher (Curriculum)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: TP&C (1265 hours directed time per annum max)
The Teacher of Science and Mathematics will fulfil the professional responsibilities of a teacher in accordance with the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document and Teachers’ Standards.
The postholder will teach Science and Mathematics across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4 to pupils aged 7–16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), many of whom present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD and associated learning needs.
The teacher will ensure:
- Pupils make strong academic progress in Science and Mathematics.
- Teaching is adapted to meet pupils’ individual needs and EHCP outcomes.
- Pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence.
- A safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment is maintained.
- Positive relationships underpin all aspects of teaching and learning.
- The role requires a child-centred, trauma-informed and relational approach, underpinned by restorative practice and a strong commitment to safeguarding.
