Welcome Maggie - Our Wonderful Emotional Support Dog at Woolston Brook School!
At Woolston Brook School, we are absolutely thrilled to introduce you to our newest furry friend, Maggie! She’s not just an ordinary dog; she’s a delightful French Bulldog who has become an integral part of our school community. As soon as you set eyes on her, you can’t help but smile!
Maggie is a curious little character who absolutely adores being fussed over. There's something so comforting about a gentle pat on her head or a scratch behind her ears. The way she wags her little tail in appreciation is contagious, and you can see how her presence instantly brightens the room.
Now, let’s talk about Maggie’s culinary tastes. You might be surprised to learn that this little lady eats most things that are put in front of her! Whether it’s a treat, a scrap of her human’s lunch, or a morsel from the school kitchen, if it is edible, Maggie is keen to give it a try. Of course, we always ensure that she’s being fed the right things – she’s far too precious to be eating anything unhealthy.
One of Maggie’s favourite pastimes is playing with her squeaky toy. It’s a bit of a ritual for her! You’ll often find her bounded around, excited, with her beloved squeaky toy in tow, ready to entertain everyone with her antics. She loves to pounce on it, giving it a good squeeze to produce that satisfying squeak. However, there’s a twist—once Maggie begins to tire of the noise, she takes a break, and bingo, the squeak has disappeared! It's as if she knows that the magic is gone, and she grows a bit bored with it. This endearing quirk adds to her charm and reminds us that even our furry friends know when it's time to switch things up a bit.
At six years old, Maggie has certainly seen a bit of life! She was a rescue dog, and we couldn’t be prouder of giving her a loving home where she can truly thrive. Claire Challinor, our new Pastoral Manager, brings Maggie into school regularly. The bond these two share is something beautiful to witness.
Maggie is more than just a pet; she is a vital part of our emotional support system at Woolston Brook School. Her calming presence has a remarkable ability to soothe students and staff alike. In moments of stress or anxiety, Maggie is often right there, cuddling up to those who need a little extra comfort. She seems to have an uncanny knack for knowing when someone needs her most, and she never fails to provide the support and companionship that can make all the difference in the world.
As we welcome Maggie into our community, we encourage everyone to take a moment to say hello if you see her around the school. Give her a little fuss or engage in a game of fetch. Maggie embodies everything we cherish at Woolston Brook School: kindness, love, and the importance of emotional well-being. We are immensely grateful to have her as part of our family, and we look forward to many joyful days ahead with this lovable French Bulldog!
