We are absolutely thrilled to announce a fantastic opportunity for our learners here at Woolston Brook School! Starting from the 25th of April, the legendary Liverpool Football Club (LFC) Foundation will be gracing us with their presence every Friday morning from 10am to 12pm. This initiative promises to be a remarkable experience for our young football enthusiasts as they delve into the world of football skills, teamwork, and most importantly, fun!

Under the guidance of Ms J Flanagan, our dedicated Humanities and PSHE lead, this collaboration combines educational development with the excitement of sport. Ms Flanagan has been hard at work to arrange for this extraordinary opportunity, and we couldn’t be more grateful for her efforts! The LFC Foundation is renowned for its outreach programmes, aimed at inspiring and engaging young people through physical activity, and bringing them into our school is an incredible honour.

The programme is designed to cater to a select group of learners who have shown a keen interest in football. Our selected pupils will be treated to expert coaching and will have the chance to learn new football skills, developing their technique, agility, and teamwork abilities on the pitch. This initiative is sure to be both educational and engaging, as participants are equipped with new skills every week that they can carry on with, not just in football but in other aspects of their lives.

Through this enriching partnership, our students will be given the chance to immerse themselves in what makes the game so special. Not only will they strengthen their football prowess, but they will also learn more about discipline, respect, and the importance of working together, values that resonate both on and off the field. The beauty of sport is that it teaches important life skills, and we know this experience will be invaluable!

For parents and carers considering this fantastic opportunity for their children, it’s essential to be informed about what to bring along. To ensure a successful and enjoyable experience, all participating pupils will need to come equipped with a suitable PE kit, trainers, and a water bottle. Staying hydrated is vital, especially when engaging in physical activities, so we encourage everyone to pack their water bottles each Friday.

The programme will run through to July, taking place most Friday mornings, which means there are plenty of sessions to look forward to! This recurring event not only highlights our commitment to physical education but also fosters a thriving school community where sports and camaraderie go hand-in-hand. Imagine the excitement building up each week as our learners count down the days until they can showcase their newly acquired skills!

We encourage parents and carersto keep a close eye on communications regarding this initiative. We will be sharing updates and reminders, ensuring that everyone is well-prepared for this exciting adventure. If your child has a passion for football, this is an opportunity they won’t want to miss. You never know; we might just uncover the next star player in our midst!

It’s heartwarming to see schools collaborating with professional organisations to provide students with opportunities that go beyond the classroom walls. This partnership with the LFC Foundation exemplifies the importance of enriching the educational landscape and inspiring young minds to pursue their passions. Football is a sport that brings together individuals from all walks of life, and we are excited to see the joy and teamwork that will flourish over the coming weeks.
