As the excitement builds for Comic Relief Day, we are thrilled to announce that our school will be celebrating this important event on Friday, 24th March 2025. This year's Red Nose Day promises to be a fantastic occasion, filled with laughter, fun, and the spirit of generosity, all aimed at making a difference in the lives of those in need.
At the helm of our fundraising efforts is Ms J Flanagan, one of our dedicated Year 9 form tutors and the lead for Humanities and PSHE. Ms Flanagan has set up a fundraising page to encourage our school community to contribute towards this noble cause. Her passion for supporting those less fortunate is truly inspiring, reminding us all of the impact we can have when we come together for a good cause.
"Over the past 40 years, Comic Relief has supported over 100 million people across the world, including here in the UK. This Red Nose Day, let’s giggle again to help put food on plates, roofs over heads, and keep little ones safe."
Ms J Flanagan
Her words resonate with the essence of the event; it is not simply about having fun, but about standing in solidarity with those who are struggling.
This year, we are encouraging all students and staff to get creative with their fundraising efforts. Whether it’s dressing up in outrageous costumes, hosting a bake sale, or taking on an epic challenge, every little contribution matters. Ms Flanagan emphasises, "Whether you dress up, have a bake sale, take on an epic challenge or buy a Red Nose - when you go big on the silly, you give big, do good, and make memories." The goal is to foster an atmosphere of joy while simultaneously making a positive impact in our communities.
On the day itself, we will see students wearing their red noses and donning their most vibrant outfits, transforming the school into a sea of colour and laughter. Activities will be organised throughout the day to engage everyone, from traditional games to special performances, showcasing the talents of our students and staff alike. Each activity will serve not just to entertain, but also to remind us of the power of collective action.
As we approach Comic Relief Day, let’s all come together as a community to support this worthy cause. Remember, every contribution—big or small—can make a real difference. Let's make this Red Nose Day one to remember by sharing laughter, creating memories, and most importantly, helping those in need. Together, we can show that people matter—everyone, everywhere, always.
