Woolston Brook School is excited to announce its participation in the Tesco Stronger Starts Team, a community initiative aimed at fostering a bright future for children and young people in our area. We encourage everyone in the community to support us by casting your votes in Tesco stores using the tokens provided at the checkout. The more votes we receive, the better our chances of securing vital funding for projects that will have a lasting impact on our students.
Thanks to the tireless efforts of our Finance Officer, Miss Lisa Moorcroft, Woolston Brook School was able to successfully apply for this fantastic initiative. The Tesco Stronger Starts grand programme is designed to give local projects a boost, particularly those that focus on improving the lives of children and young people. The tapestry of support woven by this initiative reflects Tesco’s commitment to nurturing our communities and ensuring that our children have a strong, healthy start in life.
So, what exactly is the Tesco Stronger Starts Team? This initiative is part of a broader community funding scheme run by the well-known supermarket chain, Tesco. The cornerstone of this project is the token voting system. Customers at Tesco stores receive a token during checkout and can vote for one of three shortlisted local projects. The projects that garner the most votes within a three-month period stand to receive substantial grants—up to £1,500 for the top project, £1,000 for the second, and £500 for the third.
Woolston Brook School is particularly excited about the benefits this grant could provide. With a focus on healthy food, nutrition, and activities that promote both mental and physical well-being, we intend to initiate projects that will significantly enhance the educational experiences of our students. From cooking classes that promote healthy eating to after-school sports that encourage physical fitness, the possibilities are boundless.
To ensure our community remains informed, below is a list of Tesco stores where you can cast your votes. Please do share this information within your networks to maximise support:

Voting will commence shortly, and once it concludes, votes will be collated. We expect to be informed of the outcome of the public vote by mid-February 2026.
We genuinely believe that together, we can make a substantial difference in the lives of those we serve. Your support through voting can propel us towards achieving our aspirations for the students at Woolston Brook School. Thank you for your backing, and let us all stand united for a stronger future!
