In a delightful celebration of student achievement, Annamarie Ellis, our dedicated Assistant Headteacher for Attendance, Behaviour and Welfare, recently awarded prizes to students who have shown exceptional commitment to their education by maintaining attendance over 90%. This initiative not only recognises the hard work of our students but also encourages a culture of attendance that is vital for academic success.

The last day of half-term was particularly special, as it was designated a non-uniform day. Students were excited to swap their school uniforms for their favourite outfits, creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere throughout the school. This day served as a perfect backdrop for the awards ceremony, where the winners were announced with much anticipation.

Three outstanding students were recognised for their remarkable attendance records: one from Year 9, one from Year 7, and one from Year 6. Each winner received a prize, celebrating their dedication and resilience in attending school regularly. The winners were beaming with pride as they accepted their awards, and their classmates cheered them on, fostering a sense of community and support among peers.

Annamarie Ellis expressed her pride in the students, stating, 'It’s wonderful to see our students so committed to their education. Attendance is crucial, and these awards highlight the importance of being present in school. I hope this inspires even more students to strive for excellent attendance in the future.' Her words resonated with both students and staff, reinforcing the message that every school day counts.

This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to promote positive behaviours and encourage students to take pride in their attendance. By recognising those who achieve over 90% attendance, we aim to motivate all students to aim high and understand the value of being present in their learning environment.

As we move forward into the next half-term, we encourage all students to keep up the fantastic work and continue striving for excellence. Let’s make every day count, and who knows, the next awards ceremony could see even more winners! Congratulations to our prize recipients, and thank you to everyone for making our school a vibrant and welcoming place to learn.
