On Tuesday, 16th September, we had a delightful surprise at school as a charming Horsefield tortoise named Squirtle paid us a visit! At just three years old, Squirtle is already quite the character and certainly stole the hearts of both students and teachers alike.
The moment Squirtle arrived, it was clear that he was a curious little soul. His favourite food? Dandelion flowers! There’s something utterly endearing about watching him munch away contentedly on these vibrant yellow blooms. We all had a good laugh as he attempted to nibble on anything white in sight—clearly, Squirtle has an adventurous palate and a mischievous spirit!
What really set Squirtle apart, however, was his affection for baths. As he splashed around in the warm water, we couldn't help but giggle at his antics. And if you ever get the chance to give him a quick rub with a toothbrush, you’ll see him revel in the attention like an expert spa-goer indulging in a reviving treatment!
This visit has sparked wonderful conversations about the fascinating world of reptiles. Squirtle’s endearing personality and unique quirks remind us all of the joys of learning about animals, their behaviours, and the importance of caring for them. We’re all looking forward to possibly having more visits in the future. Thank you, Squirtle, for a truly unforgettable day!
