On the evening of Thursday, 27th November 2025, Woolston Brook School held a heart-warming Leavers Presentation Evening to honour the achievements of its Class of 2025. The event took place in the school hall from 4pm to 5:30pm, and it was a delightful occasion filled with pride, joy, and a touch of nostalgia.
The atmosphere was buzzing as many of our leavers, along with their parents and carers, gathered to celebrate this significant milestone. It was wonderful to see the school community come together, demonstrating the strong bonds that have been formed over the years. The presence of school staff added to the warmth of the event, as they too shared in the pride of the students’ accomplishments.
The evening was introduced by our Headteacher, Cath Fowler, whose welcoming words set the tone for the celebration. Cath spoke passionately about the journey that the students had taken during their time at Woolston Brook School, highlighting the challenges they had overcome and the friendships they had forged. Her heartfelt introduction resonated with both students and parents, reminding everyone of the supportive environment that the school has fostered.
Following Cath’s introduction, the form teachers for the two classes, John McMullan and Mark Cullen, took to the stage alongside Julian Dixon, our Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). Each of them delivered inspiring speeches that celebrated the individual and collective achievements of the leavers. They reflected on the growth and development of the students throughout their time at the school, sharing anecdotes that brought smiles and laughter to the audience.
As the speeches concluded, the moment everyone had been waiting for arrived: the presentation of exam certificates. With pride shining in their eyes, John, Mark, and Julian handed out certificates to each leaver, recognising their hard work and dedication. This moment was not just about the certificates; it symbolised the culmination of years of effort and the bright futures that lie ahead for each student.
After the formalities, the celebration continued with beautifully decorated cakes and soft drinks, creating a festive atmosphere for everyone to enjoy. Staff, pupils, and parents/carers mingled over refreshments, sharing stories and laughter, and reflecting on the memories created during their time at Woolston Brook School. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to connect, reminisce, and look forward to the future.
The Leavers Presentation Evening was a fitting tribute to the Class of 2025, celebrating their achievements and the memories they have created together. It served as a reminder of the importance of community and support in education, and the lasting impact that Woolston Brook School has had on its students. As the evening drew to a close, it was clear that while the students may be leaving the school, the bonds they have formed and the lessons they have learned will stay with them for a lifetime.
Woolston Brook School wishes the Class of 2025 all the best in their future endeavours. We are confident that they will carry the values and skills they have gained here into the next chapter of their lives, making us all proud.
