Woolston Brook School

On Friday 12th June, during Lesson 6, pupils and staff gathered together to celebrate a very special occasion – Evie’s 1st birthday!

Although Evie’s actual birthday falls on 13th June, school was closed on that day, so we decided to bring the celebrations forward and make sure our much-loved therapy dog received the birthday party she deserved.

The party took place in Cath’s office, where pupils and staff came together to sing Happy Birthday to Evie and enjoy some delicious birthday cake. There were plenty of smiles, laughter and excitement as everyone wished Evie a wonderful first birthday.

After the celebrations indoors, the fun continued outside on the school field. Pupils joined Evie for a game of tag, and she was clearly having the time of her life! The challenge was simple – be the first person to tag Evie. Congratulations to Riley, who was the first to catch our speedy birthday girl and won a LEGO set as a prize.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was seeing so many children happily running around, laughing and playing alongside Evie. It was wonderful to watch the positive interactions and genuine enjoyment shared by everyone involved. Evie was certainly in doggy heaven!

As a thank you for helping her celebrate, every child who attended received a small gift and a piece of birthday cake from Cath and Evie.

The generosity shown by our pupils, their families and staff was truly humbling. Evie received an incredible collection of treats, toys and beautifully handmade birthday cards. By the end of the day, she left school with a bag full of presents and plenty of affection from her Woolston Brook family.

Evie joined Woolston Brook School in September 2025 and has quickly become a much-loved member of our community, bringing comfort, companionship and countless smiles to pupils and staff alike.

Thank you to everyone who helped make Evie’s first birthday such a memorable occasion. She is one very lucky young lady, and we know she enjoyed every minute of her special day!
